Chronology of Occupy movement raids
The Occupy movement has notably clashed with law enforcement agencies on many occasions.
Prior to Nov 9
- Sept 24 - Occupy Wall Street, 80 arrests. Deputy Inspector Anthony Bologna was filmed using chemical spray on several penned-in female demonstrators and later using the spray on a media.
- Oct 1 - Occupy Wall Street, 700 arrests at the Brooklyn Bridge.
- Oct 15 - In Chicago there were 175 arrests, about 100 arrests in Arizona (53 in Tucson, 46 in Phoenix), and more than 70 in New York City, including at least 40 in Times Square.[1]
- Oct 28-29/Nov 2-3 Occupy Rochester arrested and camp broken down twice, with 30 and 20 arrests, all nonviolent.
- Nov 2-3 - Occupy Oakland -- Scott Campbell shot while filming police[1], Kayvan Sabeghi beating[2] , 103 arrests[2]
Nov 9 - 16 and later
Major occupations in the US– Portland, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Denver, Oakland, San Francisco, New York
- Friday, Nov 11
- St. Louis camp demolished, 27 arrests.[3]
- Saturday, Nov 12
- Salt Lake City camp demolished, 18 arrests.[3]
- Denver camp demolished, 17 arrests.[3]
- Sunday, Nov 13
- Portland camp demolished, >50 arrests [3]
- Monday, Nov 14
- Oakland camp demolished, tear gas used, 33 arrests.[3]
- Tues, Nov 15
- Occupy Wall Street camp in Zucotti Park demolished, ~200 arrests, including at least five journalists.[3]
- Seattle camp demolished, protesters pepper-sprayed.
